Spice in Curry Could Prevent Liver Damage

RSS Feed

New-ish research shows that curcumin may prevent or treat liver damage, especially fatty liver disease. Curcumin is one of the active ingredients of tumeric, the spice that makes curry yellow.

This was an animal (not a fan of!!) study, but further clinical research is being done to see if it is an effective treatment for liver fibrosis.Curcumin is already known as a potent COX-2 inhibitor (the bad type of inflammation), and helps prevent colon cancer and inflammation of the brain.

You can increase your intake of curried food which will give you a help with both curcumin and capsaicin (another beneficial spice).
